English 100 Blog #1
At my home over the years it has mostly been just my mom and I living together in one place or the other. The only downfall to that is the fact that neither of us can cook. Until about the age of fifteen or sixteen this statement was completely true; I mean we knew the basics such as grilled cheese, eggs and the simple stuff. Other than this its been eating out or freezer food. Recently my mom has made a valiant effort to better her cooking, its still simple meat dishes though. So I have decided if I were to have Mr. Tsuyuki over for dinner that i would bring home a pizza. This pizza isn't just any pizza though; It is a Snowboarder specialty pizza from Oggi's Pizza and Brewing Company. I have had a lot of pizzas in my lifetime, but none like this. This pizza starts off with a nice medium sized crust not too thick to where your flavor is lost to dough and not too thin to where it doesn't even hold the topping but a perfect median between the two. On top of that is their homemade marinara sauce; I am not a big fan of sauces and I say this marinara is exceptional. The best thing about it on the pizza though, is the amount they put on it. I have had some pizzas where the sauce they put on it is overwhelming in quality and quantity, drowning out all the other flavors and overall flooding the pizza. Not the Snowboarder though; not only is the flavor amazing but the amount is perfect, complimenting all other flavors and not weighing the pizza down at all. Next, the cheeses, the essential to every pizza. Well on the snowboarder pizza you have a simple yet explosive combination of Ricotta and Parmesan cheeses. In most situations all your cheese is melted together, but on this pizza the Ricotta melts over the Parmesan as sort of a blanket of cheesy goodness. And for the final touches on this glorious pizza, it is topped with the best Brazilian tri-pepper sausage I have had. This sausage is so juicy and has a great spice to it,I don't know whether to leave it as a topping or just pick it off and eat it by itself its THAT good. There you have it, the Snowboarder pizza, a mouth watering combination of marinara, ricotta and parmesan cheeses, and Brazilian tri-pepper sausage.
